    Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe regarding the Pandemic?

Puerto Rico has taken great precautions which has contributed to the minimal impact the pandemic has had on the island. You can learn about current restrictions by visiting this website: https://www.discoverpuertorico.com/info/travel-guidelines

Will we be working with Covid-19 patients?

No. The main focus of this trip is health education.

Will we be picked up from the airport when we arrive?

Yes! Two OHFC facilitators will be at the airport upon your arrival. From the moment you arrive on island you will have a facilitator with you or available at all times.

When is the best time to arrive?

When booking your flights, the window for arrival and departure is:

    12pm - 5pm with a target of 3pm

Arrivals: We will coordinate pickups around each person's arrival time

Departures: The group will be dropped off at the airport ahead of the earliest departure time.

Are there specific supplies or instruments we should bring?

Bring a bp cuff, stethoscope, and a pulse ox. We provide homecare suppliers through our on island partners. There may be some specific supplies we request the group brings down as well but we won't know until we coordinate our missions with the local municipalities.

What should we wear for our daily missions?

Bring your scrubs! Each day we will wear some combination of scrubs and volunteer gear.
